Dr Wai Keong NG
Dr. Ng Wai Keong is a consultant neurologist at the Sime Darby Medical Centre, Subang Jaya and Sunway Medical Centre.

He graduated in 1989 from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of medicine and Bachelor of Surgery. He completed internship at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney and worked as a resident medical officer for a year in Neurology before returning to Kuala Lumpur.

In 1990 he was appointed a Resident Medical Officer at the University of Malaya Medical Centre, (UMMC) Kuala Lumpur. He trained in general medicine and went to Edinburgh in 1993 for Post graduate exams. He passed the Member of the Royal College of Physicians of the UK exams and returned to Kuala Lumpur.

He underwent Advanced Training in Neurology at UMMC for three years and was appointed a lecturer in neurology at UMMC. In 1995 he went to Melbourne for further subspecialty training in Stroke. He was an Honorary Neurologist at the Austin and Repatriation Medical Centre, Melbourne.

He is known as a stroke neurologist and he was the first Medical Adviser to the National Stroke Association of Malaysia. He was the primary investigator of the University Hospital Stroke Registry. In 1996 he was the winner of the first Young Investigator’s Award for the presentation entitle “Lacunar infarct: testing the lacunar hypothesis”.

He has written many articles in peer reviewed journals and currently is practicing as a Neurologist at two major medical centres in Kuala Lumpur.
